Christmas Gifts (for the menopausal woman you love 2024)

Now that British Summer Time has ended, Halloween and Bonfire Night have passed, it is time to get down to the serious business of planning Christmas.

I am writing this Christmas Gift Guide post hoping that loved ones of menopausal women will come across it with a sigh of relief that they can find the perfect gift whether that is gifts for a menopausal wife, mum, sister, auntie or friend.

As a realist though, I do not doubt that I am speaking to the menopausal woman in question and you can just forward the links of the items you would like to add to your Christmas list to those said loved ones!

There are lots of affiliate links in the post which may earn me a commission at no extra cost to you, in fact, there are many additional discounts you have access to by using the links.

Gifts for Women in Menopause

It is my experience that women don’t make themselves or their optimal health a priority.

They make deprivation and restriction in a bid to conform to society’s version of beauty a priority but not true well-being such as time out to do something that lights them up or just time to rest, there is always something that needs doing.

Woven into my programs is the SHIFT System.  This system focuses on the root cause of menopause symptoms such as lack of natural detoxification and gut health, the gut is our second brain.

One way to support natural detoxification is to be mindful of what you put on your skin.

The skin is your largest organ and what you put on your skin is absorbed into the bloodstream and will eventually make it to your liver to be processed.

During peri-menopause, your liver is working harder to deal with fluctuating hormones along with the daily assault from environmental toxins which can build up over time.

Using natural beauty products or products with minimal chemical preservatives reduces the load on the liver.

The following products will encourage some time out to rest and recharge whilst being mindful of the impact on the body in general;

Tropic Skincare Products

Tropic Skincare has more than 275 prestigious awards and accolades that recognise everything from sustainability to ethics.

Taking care of your largest organ, the skin, can improve menopause symptoms by relieving an already overburdened hormonal system.

Here is a selection of products with would make thoughtful Christmas gifts. Click on the image to discover more.

Wild Deodorant

Fluctuating hormone levels can lead to increased sweating and night sweats during menopause.

Many deodorants contain chemicals which when absorbed by the body can add to the toxic load the liver has to deal with but also from a sustainability point of view, all the empty packaging ends up in landfills.

Not any more!

With refillable cases and vegan-friendly refills, Wild Deodorant make it easy to take care of your health and the environment. Thanks to my friend and fellow blogger Raakhee at Easy Peasy Greeny get 20% off your first order using the code EASYPEASY.

This makes a perfect stocking filler and can also be made into a subscription, conveniently delivered to your door.

I have been using this product for about a year and it is the best natural deodorant that I have used.

An Alternative Menopause

Menopause negativity is easy when your lifestyle is affected by any of the 34 symptoms of menopause (and then some!).

A positive side of menopause is learning to embrace the Wild Woman Archetype being unleashed and honouring her need for space to rest and review her life so far so that she can release what no longer serves her, learn to say No to things that no longer align with how she wants to live her life.

This can look like a more spiritual phase of life.

If you are woo-curious and want to learn more about connecting with the natural cycles of the natural world around you, you might become interested in alternative therapies such as crystal healing, aromatherapy or herbalism.

The Gift of Style

Hormonal changes of perimenopause can also bring about changes in body composition.  For many women this is distressing.

They may find their clothes no longer fit or the style they always used to wear no longer suits them.

Speaking to a Styling Expert can give you the confidence to try new items of clothing and colours that you may not have thought of before.  Dressing for the body you are currently living in rather than lamenting what was can improve your self-esteem and help you embrace the menopause journey whilst working towards your health and well-being goals sustainably.

Alex Standley is a Personal Stylist who supports women in increasing their confidence and self-esteem with wardrobe edits and colour analysis.  She also has a sustainable ethos, does much of her shopping with clients in charity shops and is brilliant at picking up amazing second-hand deals.

Here is what she has to say about gifting style for Christmas;

As we approach the season of giving, experiences often make the most memorable and meaningful gifts. If you’re searching for a unique and confidence-boosting gift, consider gift vouchers for my styling services. These can be a transformational experience for someone feeling lost in their style journey and lacking confidence in their body image.

Whether we like it or not, people’s impressions of us are made in the first 10 seconds of meeting us, before we have been able to connect with our values and personality. So many perceive fashion and style to be frivolous, but for this reason and for the more important reason of how it makes you feel, it’s hugely impactful to your self esteem.

If you’d like to create your signature style personality with me, along with identifying your unique colour palette, book in for the Style Foundations package:

Adaptogens for menopause

Adaptogenic herbs are plants and mushrooms which help your body respond to stress, fatigue, anxiety and overall well-being.

They can ‘adapt’ to your body’s needs.  For instance, if you are tired they will provide energy, if you are wired they will soothe your nervous system, clever huh?!

Ashwagandha for menopause is becoming a very popular supplement.

You can purchase adaptogenic herbs from health food shops however, do your research.  Check the quality of the provider along with any possible reaction to current medications.

Adaptogenic herbs include; American Ginseng, Ashwagandha, Astragalus, Cordyceps, Gogi Berry, Eleuthero Root, Jia Gula, Licorice Root, Rhodiola Rosea, Schisandra Berry, Tulsi, Turmeric.

Buying and using these herbs can become overwhelming and expensive.

Thankfully there are simple ways to include these powerful health-giving herbs in your lifestyle with ease.

Adaptogenic Apothecary provides ready-to-use sachets or premixed herbs to support the menopause journey.

If you still have a cycle, supporting the release and excretion of the right hormones at the right time will support your body to function optimally along with relieving symptoms of PMT and menopause.

HARMONY is the range that will aim to align your cycle.

Based on a 28-day cycle the Harmony Monthly supply comes with 28 sachets to support you through all four phases of your menstrual cycle.  If your cycle differs in length you can purchase top-up sachets.

FREEDOM is the range which will support menopause if you no longer have a cycle or you have an irregular cycle.  As you progress through perimenopause it isn’t unusual to skip a few months of your cycle.

The Freedom sachets include ingredients to support a whole host of menopause symptoms such as hot flushes, anxiety, fatigue, low libido, brain fog, bone loss, ageing skin and sleep issues to name a few.

I have tried these sachets and love how easy they are to add to my daily life.  Blend, mix, sprinkle or stir the premeasured amount into your food or drinks.

Check out Adaptogenic Apothecary’s website for other products and subscribe and save discounts.

While we are on the subject of adaptogenic herbs, I have also recently tried London Nootropics Adaptogenic Coffee.

I was a little dubious to start with as I love my coffee and don’t enjoy ‘instant’ coffee however, these taste freshly brewed with the added benefit of adaptogenic herbs in three different formulas;

ZEN – with CBD & Ashwagandha

MOJO – with Cordyceps & Ginseng

FLOW – with Lions Manes & Rhodiola

You can purchase boxes with 12 sachets.  There are mixed sachet options as well as bigger box options and subscribe and save.  Use this link to learn more and if you purchase don’t forget to use the code NNF15 for 15% off.
