Belly Fat Storage Mode

Hormone fluctuations during menopause cause many changes to the body and a common one is increased fat storage, especially in the midsection.

Our fat cells produce estrogen therefore as our ovaries stop producing estrogen our body wants to hold on to cells which can still provide it.

Our adrenals are also responsible for producing some estrogen but only when they aren’t producing CORTISOL which is why it is important to manage stress levels.

Stress and Menopause Belly-Fat

Our body will also store fat in response to stress.

You can stress your body in not-so-obvious forms such as;

  • Not eating enough
  • Removing complete food groups
  • Over-exercising
  • Inflammation
